Ladykiller
Ladykiller was a 1961 TB. His reg. numbers were 06-40008-61, 21-03847-61. He had three wonderful gaits and a great personality. Out of the great number of TBs used for warmblood breeding in the 1960's and 1970's he was by far the best. He really produced himself consistently along with awsome jumping ability in technique, manner of jumping, and spirit. His best stallion sons were Landgraf I and Lord and they were out of mares who had significant amounts of TB blood. His son Landgraf I became the most important sire of showjumpers in the twentieth century. Landgraf I even has a life-sized bronze monument in his honor in Elmshorn. Ladykiller typically did not produce dressage horses, however his son Lido produced great dressage horses. It is hard to find another Holsteiner who was in such demand for producing dressage horses. It is rare to look in the pedigree of any Holsteiner today and not see Ladykiller xx at least two or three times in earlier generations.
